Yttergran Church is a charming building, one of the smallest churches in Sweden, although it nonetheless contains much to interest the visitor. The interior was adorned in about 1480 with frescoes by the famous medieval master known as Albertus Pictor. The paintings are in a good condition and are well worth seeing. The church was originally built in the twelfth century of granite and had no tower, although one was added relatively early in the thirteenth century. Several alterations took place during the medieval period, although not much has changed since.
