Värmland Fire History Museum is located in the lovely Spruthuset, built in 1897. Among the many interesting artefacts on display here are a manual fire engine from 1875 and a horse drawn fire pump. There is a Volvo Fire Engine from 1934 and a range of more modern equipment. Exhibitions tell the story of some of the most disastrous fires in the region’s history and of the influence fire has had on culture, and on some of the region’s writers and artists. Spruthuset lies near the town centre of Storfors.
