Övergran Church dates back to the twelfth century. It was substantially altered during the thirteeenth and fourteenth centuries, but essentially retains its medieval character. What most attracts visitors to this church are the frecoes by the acknowledged master known as Albertus Pictor. He worked in the second half of the fifteenth century. It is believed that the paintings in this church are the oldest surviving works by Pictor.
