The Thiel Gallery houses an important collection of turn of the century Nordic Art. It is housed in the huge former home of the banker Ernest Thiel, an avid collector of modern art, who cultivated friendships with many of the greats of his time. There are more than eight hundred pieces on display here, in uncluttered and unfussy surroundings. The painters represented include such celebrated greats as Edvard Munch and Carl Larsson. There is a cafeteria serving drinks and homemade food. Books and postcards are sold.
