For many this is definitely one of the highlights of the Stockholm museum scene, and if you are interested in royalty or weaponry of any kind then it is a must see location. It is the oldest museum in Sweden and it is renowned for its huge collection of suits of armour. Among the highlights are the masked costume worn by King Gustav III on the day he was assassinated back in 1792. There is also a large collection of ceremonial coaches, as well as the usual swords and firearms used throughout the ages. Guided tours can be obtained in English to help sort through the vast array of exhibits.
