The Chinese Pavilion is another part of the Royal Palaces of Stockholm, and was a birthday present from King Adolf Fredrik to his Queen Lovisa Ulrika. The building is known for its ornate design and having been built in 1753 is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The original was made of wood, but the heavily Oriental-influenced design was changed to a brick building in 1780. The style reflects the trend for Oriental inspired buildings at that time, and is an interesting sight to see in a European city.
