Svindersvik is one of the best examples of a rococo estate remaining in Sweden. It was built in the eighteenth century and is still beautifully furnished throughout with beautiful period furniture. It forms part of the Nordic Museum and has been maintained by them since it was donated to the state in the nineteen forties. It has beautiful gardens, laid out in a style heavily influenced by French conventions. There is a cafe here, down by the water. Guided tours are available.
