The Stockholm City Museum is housed in a beautiful seventeenth century building, designed by Nicodemus Tessin the Elder and completed by his son. The museum documents the history of the twelfth century, from its foundation in medieval times right through to the present day. There are a range of interesting activities with historical themes laid on for children. Guided tours are available in English and French. There is an outdoor cafe here.
