Skokloster Church was built in the thirteenth century to serve a community of Cistercian sisters. It faced serious neglect and fell into disrepair after the Reformation, when the convent was completely destroyed and was not restored until the late seventeenth century. It contains some valuable and fascinating inventory that is well worth seeing. There are three medieval carvings and a thirteenth century crucifix. The altarpiece, font and pulpit are all seventeenth century.
