Riddarholmen Church is one of the few buildings of medieval origin left standing in Stockholm. It was originally a great abbey, although much of this was destroyed, parts of the building date back to the fourteenth century. It is now used exclusively for ceremonial purposes by the royal family, and as the burial place for Kings and Queens. As a consequence it is a popular tourist attraction. Guided tours of the church are available. The church hosts concerts of sacred music of the highest quality.
