Per Gynt was a mountain dweller from the thirteenth century who became a notorious highwayman. He lived in the cave which still attracts visitors today, just to the northwest of Borlänge. Famous for robbing and murdering travelers along the local roads, he was finally hanged just above the cave. There is an information board here informing visitors about the history of the place and its boodthirsty occupant.
