The fascinating island of Nimingen is nowadays a nature reserve that supports one of the finest bird populations in the region. Several rare species are found here. It also supports an interesting range of coastal vegetation, including such plants as sea kale and thrift. The island is also the home of the oldest lighthouse in Sweden, which is open to visitors. The island lies about an hour’s boat ride away from the mainland.
