The National Museum of Science and Technology (Tekniska Museet) attracts more than one hundred and seventy thousand visitors every year. Its galleries cover more than ten thousand square metres. More than 50,000 objects are housed here. There are a wide range of hands on activities in the Teknorama section that are especially appealing to children. There are extensive exhibitions on such themes as space travel, the development of the telephone, mining and iron production. The machine hall and huge model railway are also popular attractions.
