The National Museum of Fine Art is the foremost museum of art and design in Sweden. It contains a fine collection of old masters from the sixteenth centuries onwards. You can see works here by such greats as Rembrandt, Rubens, Renoir, Degas and Gaugin. There are also fine collections of drawings, etchings, porcelain, silver and furniture. Temporary exhibitions are mounted here. The museum attracts around four hundred thousand visitors per year. There is a museum shop and restaurant. Guided tours are available. Audio guides can also be rented.
