The collections here include artefacts from Greece and Rome, and a substantial Egyptian section, which includes mummy cases and mummified animals. The Near East and Islamic collections come from areas which make up modern day Turkey and Iran. There is an extensive dislpay on the development of Islamic Art. The collection of Cypriot antiquities, arranged in a new gallery, is without parallel at any museum in the world. The museum’s Oriental Cafe offers fine views over some of the most attractive parts of the city.
