One of the most popular destinations for recreation among local residents, Mellstaparken lies to the north of Borlönge town centre. It lies by the Dalälven river. There are several marked jogging tracks here. During the winter there are illuminted trails maintained for cross country skiing. There is a popular campsite at the park. The municipality have invested heavily in the facilities at the campsite, which is conveniently located for access to the key attractions of the town and district.
