Medelplana Church

Medelplana Church lies in the municipality of Götene, to the north west of the town. There has been a stone church on this site since the middle of the twelfth century, although it was substantially altered in the early nineteenth, when it gained its present appearance. According to the local tale, the church silver was buried in the seventeenth century by the local priest out of fear of Danish raiders, and was never retrieved.
