The Linnaeus House at Sävja, located in a little village outside Uppsala, was the everyday country retreat of the great scientist, when he wished to escape from the bustle of the city. Carl Linnaeus is One of the most famous Swedes and is perhaps best known for his invention of the Latin naming system for flora and fauna. There is an exhibition here about his work as a physician and the medicinal plants he grew and used. You can also see the herb garden, which is maintained. Art exhibitions are held in the house today. There is a cafe here.
