This museum was founded in 1987 by private individuals. Its aim is to inform the visitor about the history of the Jewish people in Sweden, and their relationship with wider Swedish society. It explores the distinctive contribution Jews have made in various fields, such as business, art and literature. You can also find out about distinctive Jewish customs and rituals both in the synagogue and the home. The museum attracts about twelve thousand visitors a year, including many school groups. It has a cafeteria.
