The name Humlegården means "The Hop Garden" and this area was originally used to grow hops for brewing during the reign of King Gustavus Adolphus. It developed over time into a popular city centre amusement park, complete with carousels and pavilions. There are avenues of lime trees here, making it a lovely place to walk during the bright days of high summer. The garden is full of interesting statues of the great and the good. Humlegården is located very close to the city centre. The Royal Library is to be found in the park.
