Holmsjöarna Nature Reserve was founded to protect the rich and diverse bird life in the area. It is a haven for birdwatchers and other nature lovers. It is a fine place to take a walk. It covers a total area of two hundred and seventy four hectares and is the second largest nature reserve in the municipality. There are three sizeable lakes here. Holmsjöarna Nature Reserve lies to the a few miles to the southeast of Borlänge.
