If you want to see Swedish and Viking artefacts from the Stone Age right the way up to the 16th century, then this is the place to go. This is the country’s biggest archaeological museum, and has plenty of impressive historical exhibitions. The most striking feature within the museum is the large hall on the first floor, which has many interesting pieces of church paraphernalia such as intricately carved wooden altarpieces. For a comprehensive look at Swedish history this is a must-see for many visitors.
