The earliest parts of Grava Church were built in the seventeenth century. The church was substantially extended over the next hundred years, and finally converted to a cruciform church in the late eighteenth century. It is believed that Christian Haller, the architect of Karlstad Cathedral, drew up the plans for the final extension. The present appearance of the tower took its final form in the nineteenth century. The church lies in the countryside to the north of Karlstad. It is a popular location for weddings and christenings.
