Galleri Format is located in the heart of Malmö, just across the river from the central railway station. The gallery is dedicated exclusively to photography. It runs changing exhibitions of the work of some of the leading names in the field. It is run on a non profit basis with support from the city council. Its exhibition space covers 270 square metres. The gallery also runs photographic workshops and hosts lectures.
