This reserve is made up of open meadows, with areas of birch and juniper trees. There are however, some areas of coniferous forest in parts of the reserve. During the spring the area floods, which washes the rich river soil onto the poor sandy base, promoting the growth of interesting plants and flowers. The area is popular with walkers and nature lovers. The Ettö Delta Nature Reserve lies in the countryside to the north of Gislaved.
