The Bellmanhuset is the last home of the Swedish song writing legend Carl Bellman. Bellman is known for his collection of songs about the drunkards and women of the night who used to populate the Södermalm area of the city. He was already a controversial figure, with many of his songs actually parodies of the letters of the Paul’s apostle in the New Testament of the bible. The property can generally only visit through a guided tour, and although it is in Swedish there are some performances of some of his songs by a choir.
